Zebra finches do well as as single pair?

Is it true that Zebra finches do well as a single pair, while Society finches do better in a larger group???

You need 2, or 6... a selection of 4 will lead to death usually. Zebs are very aggressive-Whereas societies are not, but both species need lots of space to fly. They fly sideways, so the enclosure must be very long rather than high.

Zebra finches do well as as single pair

Post by BeJimmieUnono » Thu Sep 05, 2019 5:02 pm

Hi fren,

I have a pair of Zebra finch with me since a year ago. The pair has 10 eggs now in the nest and they are still incubating.
Recently I saw some Strawberry finches in the pet shop and I thought of buying 2 pairs and put them together in the same cage since the cage 2 1/2 height X 1 1/2 widthis quite big for this pair of Zebra.

Can I know whether I can mix the Zebra & Strawberry finches together? Pls advise.

Best rgds,
Yoke Chin
